Description of excursions
- Panoramic city tour of Santiago de Chile.
We will start our experience from the hotel to explore the diverse charms of Santiago. We will observe the contrasts between the historic center of the city and the modern buildings of the eastern sector, discovering the favorite places for both tourists and locals.
Our first stop will be at the emblematic Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins Avenue, also known as Alameda, where we will marvel at the Presidential Palace of La Moneda, an imposing neoclassical building that houses a fundamental part of Chilean history. We will continue our panoramic tour through the picturesque pedestrian promenades of downtown, passing by the Plaza de Armas, a strategic point from where the first plans of the city were drawn. Around it, we will appreciate several historic buildings, including the majestic Cathedral Church, the imposing Central Post Office and the elegant Municipality of Santiago.
Next, we will ascend Cerro Santa Lucia, an architectural and historical site of great beauty that played a crucial role in the founding of the city, and remains a popular destination for Santiago residents. Afterwards, we will head to other local recreational sites, such as Forestal Park, the Fine Arts Museum, and the vibrant Lastarria neighborhood. We will cross the Mapocho River to reach the lively Barrio Bellavista, known for its intense cultural and artistic activity, as well as for being one of the capital's favorite nightlife destinations. We will conclude our exploration by entering the new center of the city, visiting Providencia and the districts of Las Condes and Vitacura, where we will enjoy spaces such as the Bicentennial Park, one of the new icons of the city. At the end of our immersion in the eastern part of Santiago, a symbol of growth and modernity, we will return to the hotel.- Starting time (approx): 08:30/09:00 Hrs.
- End time (approx) referential: 13:30/14:00 Hrs.
- Maipo Vineyards (Santa Rita Winery)
We will start our experience from your hotel and head towards the Maipo Valley, whose Mediterranean climate gives it privileged conditions for the production of extraordinary wines.
We will visit the Santa Rita Winery, one of the most important wineries in the country, which is surrounded by a unique natural environment where the winemaking tradition coexists with Chilean history, culture and gastronomy.
We will take the Classic Experience: A tour through the History of Chile and its Viticulture, starting at the Vineyard Garden guided by an expert who will take us through the vineyards and the winemaking, storage and bottling cellars. We will visit the historic Bodega 1, made of lime and stone, and the famous Bodega de los 120 patriotas, today a National Monument.
We will continue with a tasting of reserve wines and then we will have free time to visit the Andean Museum and the Santa Rita souvenir store, returning to the hotel.- Starting time (approx.): 14:00 Hrs.
- End time (approx) reference: 18:00 Hrs.
- Maipo Vineyards (Udurraga Vineyard)
We will start our experience from your hotel and head towards the Maipo Valley, whose Mediterranean climate gives it privileged conditions for the production of extraordinary wines.
We will visit one of the most traditional wineries in Chile, Viña Undurraga, which was the first to export its wines and paved the way for Chilean wine to be recognized as one of the best in the world; today dozens of countries receive and enjoy the excellent products of Viña Undurraga. We will start in the Aroma Room to expand our senses and then visit Undurraga Park, created by the French landscape architect George Henry Dubois, who also designed Santiago's Parque Forestal, one of the city's landmarks. We will continue to the Rincón Aliwén, a place where part of the vegetation of southern Chile is recreated and where homage is paid to our main native people, the Mapuches, exhibiting figures of their culture and making known their worldview. We will tour the vineyards and learn about the terroir of the valley through a Calicata, identifying the different grape varieties cultivated by Undurraga through a garden of varieties and we will see the winemaking process of the different products. We will access the centuries-old subway cellars and appreciate the Gente de la Tierra collection, a sample of Mapuche and pre-Columbian life and art in honor of our native peoples. We will conclude with a tasting of three reserve wines, receiving our glass as a souvenir and returning to the hotel in Santiago.
- Starting time (approx.): 14:00 Hrs.
- End time (approx) referential: 18:00 Hrs.
- Chilean Cooking Class
We will start our Experience from your hotel to know Santiago from its gastronomy, going through its most recognized markets and participating in an incredible cooking class.
We will start at the Central Market, which, besides being known for its classic sale of fresh fish and seafood, stands out for its architecture (it was designed by Gustave Eiffel). Such is its relevance that it has been internationally recognized by NatGeo as one of the 10 most important food markets in the world.
We will then walk to the Vega Central, where we can enjoy the colors and aromas of various fruits and vegetables. After buying the main ingredients for our class we will head towards the vibrant Barrio Italia, a renowned area where art, cuisine and culture combine perfectly. Together with our Chef-Instructor we will cook and learn the secrets and recipes of Chilean gastronomy and then, of course, we will enjoy our dishes accompanied with excellent Chilean wines. After lunch we will return to the hotel.
